Wood Fire's New Blog

9 comments:

  1. A new venue to share your thoughts and experiences at the Wood Fire. We hope to attract our guests and staff and friends to review Wood Fire--the food---the music---the concept.

Wood Fire is not simply a restaurant, it is a statement of how fine life can be. Our guests and staff and musicians all participate in an experience...the art of dining amongst friends.

Oh, we do fall down pretty hard from time to time and we are interested in how to make the experience more ideal.

Please share your thoughts and ideas...welcome to the Wood Fire!

  5. Here we are working with the realities of the new economy----lots of menu changes, new offerings, short staff---and I have never heard so many compliments as guest say good evening. Salt of the earth, hard working folks doing what they know so well how to do, cook great food.

One of our great advantages at Wood Fire is the kitchen staff right there as we enter and leave. The proximity lends intimacy to the experience. The kitchen staff take such pride---let them know if you enjoyed!

Wood Fire is all about the food.

  6. It's a first, Friday and we celebrate a week of sizzling blog! Tonight just mention you saw it on the blog and you bottle of wine is half off! Never before, never again? We will need some feedback on that.

Tonight we have our favorite seminarian turned blues artist! John Derado has played for us going on six years! Truly a favorite with his fabulous Dobro's, a sweet acoustic National, and excellent vocals.

Bring your darling and plan to linger! And don't forget to enjoy a really nice bottle of wine.

Say hi here, and see you tonight---Live at the Wood Fire!

  7. This is fun, I love coming to Dowagiac, and eating at Wood Fire. The food is good, especially to get out of the big city, and have a big city meal!

  8. Here we go with the fabulous Easter Buffet, Sunday April 12th. The kitchen is here in the wee hours to prepare the extravagant array of dishes.

It is one day each year when we pour (ourselves) a pint sized Bloody Mary, duly adorned, with Chris's secret dill spices.

The sun shines, families arrive en masse, and the food is just wonderful.

Have you been? Coming this year? Shall we save you a Bloody Mary? (One comes with the buffet and a mention of the blog!)

See you at the Wood Fire

  9. Easter was wonderful. Year after year the families uniting for a meal of celebration adds such cheer to the day.

Thank-you to all who came to dine and our staff who made it fabulous!

We have an idea. With each entree served at Wood Fire we will offer diners the option pay one dollar toward a meal for the needy. For each dollar paid, Wood Fire will prepare a meal for a local charity.

We could send meals to churches, the Women's Shelter, the Council on Aging, etc.

The numbers would work for us, do you think guests would welcome the opportunity? or would the option intrude on an evening out?

Please let me know your thoughts. How could the program work? What restrictions would be important?

This could be a chance to serve thousands of meals each year----and that would feel sooooo good.

    What do you think?
